Studio directions

The address of our studio is 20A Teck Lim Road, Singapore 088391.

The nearest MRT stations are Outram Park EW16 (5-8 minutes walk) and Chinatown NE4 (8-13 minutes walk). We are nicely nestled in an area with many hotels (Chinatown Hotel, Hotel 1929, Royal Peacock Hotel and a more “budget” place Travellers Rest-Stop). It’s on the second floor of a shop house building in Chinatown area, above a Karaoke bar called the Bronx.

Here’s a map from Streetdirectory.com.

Walking

If you are coming from Outram Park MRT, head down Eu Tong Sen Street with the Pearl Centre on your left. Stop at the first pedestrian crossing, turn right and cross Eu Tong Sen Street. You should see Kreta Ayer Road on your left, and This Fashion (clothing store) on the other side of the road. You are on the right track so keep going uphill along Kreta Ayer Road. Turn right at the first intersection – Keong Saik Road – and very shortly you will see Teck Lim Road on your left.

If you are coming from the Chinatown MRT, exit at the Pagoda Street Exit. Turn around to face People’s Park Complex (which should be behind you as you come out of the MRT station) across the road from you, turn left and walk along New Bridge Road. You will be crossing two narrow streets (Temple Street followed by Smith Street) on your left, until you come to a street corner with many eating stalls. Stop and admire its well-known frog porridge. When it’s time to move on, turn left into Keong Saik Road. After the first intersection, you should see Hotel 1929 on your left. Slow down now because Teck Lim Road will be coming up on your left.

Parking

If you are driving, I suggest to come along New Bridge Road and then turn left into Keong Saik Road. After a sharp turn, there is an underground cashcard carpark to the right (Oriental Plaza) and coupon parking on the left (Block 334).

Taxis

To arrive by taxis, it is generally fine to name one of the larger hotels as the landmark, e.g. Hotel 1929 or Royal Peacock Hotel.

To leave after the milongas, you should have no problems finding a taxi along Keong Saik Road or, just a few more steps round the corner, Kreta Ayer Road – especially after 12am, which is when the 50% midnight surcharge kicks in in Singapore.
